So – the fiery Lady Valkia and her air corsairs rejoin the story… and in force! You know the old Xylosian proverb: “Hell hath no fury like a Pirate Queen scorned!”

I did not see that coming. I have a big smile on my face now. 😀
Awesome! Good to have Lady Valkia back! Look forward to seeing what happens next.
Definitely a strong potential of “out of the frying pan into the fire” but also a possible opportunity for escape.
I know the reasons, but I still wish for more than once a week for the story. [Smile]
Is it wrong to like the Pirate Queen more than the Princess?
Why do I get the feeling that she will be the only survivor of her bloody ban, and forced to join our heroes?
Well, I won’t be surprised if Reddjac tries to betray Lady Valkia so you may be correct. [Smile]
Question about Lady Valkia’s power base.
I got the impression that the Crimson Scourge was made of several “fleets” controlled by Captains like Reddjac.
Does she have a “fleet” loyal to her and if so why did she chase after Hawke & the Princess with only a fleet loyal to Reddjac?
Or am I missing something (very possible). [Smile]
She technically commands all of the captains and their crews; she pursued Hawke with all the ships available at the moment (those that were currently in port), and Reddjac serves as her second-in-command.
Yes, the stratopirates seem to be arranged something like a piratical fiefdom. She sits at the head as pirate-queen, and doles out fleets and resources to her lieutenants, who in tun do the same down the chain. In turn they swear whatever degree of fealty to her and heed her when called, and probably cut her back a portion of their hauls. Reddjac just happens to be either a.)available or b.) the most trusted knight/duke in her cadre.
I think how she got the job of Pirate Queen would be an interesting back-story.
She answered an ad and aced the interview.
Well what do you know? I guessed right. My only question is what took them so long? Our heroes were walking through the jungle, while the pirates had ships and rocket packs. Did they have trouble tracking them?
