That was a brutal. He had it coming but man, that is not how you see one kill another man very often. I wonder if our hero is not so much of a hero, given the panel where his eyes look angry yet dead inside. Cannot wait to see what happens next.
I think Hawke simply reached his breaking point. People have been chasing him and trying to kill him since he arrived on Xylos, and while he’s tried to avoid killing, he’s finally realized that this is a savage planet he’s stuck on…
Yep, but of course even a Hero can decide that some people really need killing.
Oh, why do I get the feeling from the last scene that the Princess “turned the tables” on the Pirate Queen? [Very Big Grin]
On the other hand, it’d be an interesting twist if the Pirate Queen and the Princess aren’t the enemies that they appeared.
IE the Pirate Queen didn’t really mind if the Princess had escaped but her followers would expect her to recapture the Princess so to keep control of them, she had to pursue them.
I think so too – Xylos must have an effect on Hawke. By the way: I loove this comic – and the fact that there is almost always some kind of cliffhanger, very well mapped out. Where can I vote for Perils On Planet X?
Donovan knew this guy would keep coming until one of them was dead; might as well get it out of the way now. Besides, it frees up Chris to create an even deadlier villain for us to boo. 🙂

And Redjac has proven completely and utterly untrustworthy.

Oh, she may still be very angry at Hawke.
I have the feeling our “damsel” is not actually in distress, and might have been getting ready to come and save him.
I appreciate how we are getting to see Hawke’s character revealed and developed through the action.
Keep up the great work!
