   This is a fine transition scene, and completely within the tropes of the genre (though I would not mind seeing some of those subverted a bit; I mean the grateful princess bit is great, I’ve loved it since reading “A Princess of Mars” in 8th Grade, but I would not mind a change up too; shared danger isn’t necessarily the best relationship builder).

   All this to say, I am enjoying myself, but now I want to see Don punching some things (happy to see Odyri punch some things too). Ready for some action!

     They don’t call it “interplanetary romance” for nothing, you know. Still, I wouldn’t assume that this is going to play out exactly according to the usual genre conventions. And while my intent isn’t to “subvert” anything, I believe that the story has already deviated from formula in some significant ways.

     As for action, I don’t think there’s ever been much shortage of that in this story…. and there’s plenty more to come!

       Well, the older meaning of “romance” had more to do with adventure than lovers. [Smile]

       Of course, John, Buck and Flash didn’t willing sleep with anybody other than their “lady loves”. [Wink]
